PL-Mount HC 22/45 Combined Hot and Cold Mounting System

Equipment

The system prepares samples for grinding, polishing and microstructure analysis. Hot mounting is used for small, brittle, porous or irregularly shaped samples.

The system comprises the PL-Mount H22 hot mounting press (⌀22 mm samples), the PL-Mount H45 press (⌀45 mm samples) and the PL-VImp-100 cold vacuum impregnation unit. Vacuum casting handles more than 10 different samples at once and rules out voids, gaps and cavities both in the sample and in the resin — gases are removed under vacuum. This matters in particular for solid and porous samples, including powder metallurgy.
