Automated Grinding and Polishing of Micro-Sections
Grinding
Sequential surface treatment of the sample: rough grinding, fine grinding, pre-polishing and final polishing. Rotation speed, processing time and clamping force are set by program and held automatically, so the result does not depend on operator skill.
Processing runs on two ⌀250 mm discs with suspensions, up to six samples at a time, with a clamping force of 5–50 N. The output is a mirror surface free of deep scratches and cold work, ready for microstructure analysis.
